Support Expiration Date (October 14, 2025) for Windows 10

Dear all,

Windows 10 support will expire on October 14, 2025.

Using no longer-supported software will leave security vulnerabilities open and cause serious information security incidents. Kyoto University requires each department and member to take countermeasures through its information security policy and security survey.

Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025.

Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is hard due to the high threshold of hardware requirements (*1). This is especially true because it has become mandatory to have the TPM 2.0(*2) security feature implemented at the hardware level.

*2 See Enabling TRM 2.0 on PCs (Microsoft) to see if Total Productive Maintenance can be enabled.

Therefore, please keep in mind that the situation is that older devices with Windows 10 will likely not be able to upgrade to Windows 11 or later.

Although there are about two more years of support, if you use Windows 10 or earlier OS, please consider upgrading your OS or renewing your terminal by the end of the support date.
