The Center has provided the e-mail service in Google Apps for Education(Current name is Google Workspace for Education) since April 2008.
We would like to explain about the Center’s Gmail.
If you receive the Center’s account, please sign in to Gmail (https://gmail.com) with the Center’s account provided by the information processing office. Then, if there is any trouble, please contact the information processing office.
If you receive phishing e-mails or sudden winning notifications regarding your Gmail or other Google account, please consult with your e-mail address management operation site, while referring to the information below, instead of just responding to the e-mail. In the case of our email address, please contact the Information Processing Office.
For Web Mail (Gmail)
Please sign in to Gmail using the Center’s account.
How to change language

For E-mail software
The information processing office recommends to use a IMAP setting.
In case of IMAP connection, the data between an e-mail software and Gmail is synchronized. Therefore, you can use the same folder (label) on an e-mail software and Gmail. Moreover, the message is protected by higher security system.

We introduce the setting information for Thunderbird.
Incoming Mail (IMAP)
- Server Name: imap.gmail.com
- Port: 993
- User Name : ***@cseas.kyoto-u.ac.jp
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication method: OAuth2
If you use Thunderbird, please select “OAuth2” in Authentication method.
Incoming Mail (POP)
- Server Name: pop.gmail.com
- Port: 995
- User Name: recent:****@cseas.kyoto-u.ac.jp (Please add “recent:” prefix code.)
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication method: OAuth2
Outgoing Mail (SMTP)
- Server Name: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
- Authentication method: OAuth2
- User Name: ***@cseas.kyoto-u.ac.jp
