If you have installed the Center’s security software called “ESET” (SPS-ID holders only), you must upgrade to v8.1.6000 before upgrading to the brand-new OS. Dear all, Windows 10 support will expire on October 14, 2025. Using no longer-supported software will leave security vulnerabilities open and cause serious information security incidents. Kyoto University requires each department and member to take countermeasures through its information security policy and security survey. Windows 10 support will end on October 14, 2025. Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 is hard due to the high threshold of hardware requirements (*1). [Mac users]: CSEAS Security software “ESET” supports new OS “macOS 13 Ventura”

Dear all, The new Mac OS “macOS 13 Ventura” is scheduled to be released on October 25 in Japan. Our security software (ESET) does not yet support the new OS. There is information that a new version will be released in the near future, but since the details are still unknown, we recommend that you wait and see for a week or two after the new OS is released. Dear all, If you are using a version of ESET that is currently too old (ESET 7.1 or previous version), the following problems will occur since September 30, 2021. ESET won’t work properly with Windows Update on Sept. 30, 2021! Since 12 March 2021, the zoom account of Kyoto University has been turned on the end-to-end (E2E) encryption option. If you want to have a more confidential meeting, try enabling this option. Please keep in mind that the following conditions must be met in order to use this service. Each participant and host should be using Zoom software (application) 5.4.0 or higher. End-to-End (E2E) encryption meeting must be enabled in the host’s zoom.us settings, and End-to-End (E2E) encryption must be checked in each schedule. Cannot update OS update on macOS Big Sur with ESET security software

Dear all, It has been reported that on macOS Big Sur with ESET Endpoint Antivirus for macOS installed, OS updates using Software Update will stop halfway through. Reference:[NEWS7604] ESET support of macOS Big Sur (11) (eset.com) For the latest version, 6.10.460.1 (19th March 2021), try booting in Start up your Mac in safe mode and then try the update. We have confirmed that 6.10.910.0, the latest version as of May 25, 2021, can be updated from macOS Big Sur 11.3.1 to 11.4. We have not yet verified if this is possible on all devices.
