Today, new macOS 10.15 Catalina was released!
As the information processing office began to check new OS, unfortunately we found out some critical issues, such as old Office cannot work. Therefore, we inform some attentions what you should do before upgrading new mac OS 10.15 Catalina.
Wait the upgrade until you confirm the information about the printer driver for macOS 10.15 (9th Oct, 2019)
The information processing office confirmed that OKI C810dn and OKI C811dn which are installed at some researcher’s rooms cannot print out
on new macOS 10.15. According to the printer support page, OKI C810dn and OKI C811dn will be supported for new macOS 10.15 since the middle of December. Therefore, please don’t upgrade to new macOS 10.15 until you can confirm the printer driver for macOS 10.15.

What you should do before upgrading macOS 10.15 Catalina
- Upgrade the Center’s ESET (Security software) to version 6.8.1.0 if your Mac was installed.
- If Microsoft Office 2011 and 2016 for Mac is installed, upgrade Office 2019 for Mac.
- If MicrosOffice 2019 for Mac is installed, update the program.
If you upgrade to new OS without updating new ESET, the ESET won’t work. Please install new ESET.
According to the official announcement, Office 2011 for Mac cannot work on macOS 10.15 and Microsoft support was ended. The information processing office confirmed that Office 2016 didn’t work on macOS 10.15.
Office 2016 for Mac Support will be ended on 13th October, 2020
Please upgrade Office 2016 for Mac to Office 2019 until the support will be ended .
Office 2019 ended the macOS 10.12 support

If your Mac uses macOS 10.12 or previous OS, please consider to upgrade to new OS as soon as possible. The support ended by the famous software means that the OS is too old, so it means that the security risk is high.
Please doesn’t connect a PC which has software which support was ended to the Kyoto University network because the information security risk is high.
