[Notice] New Mac OS and iOS will take away the PPTP service!

Dear iPhone/iPad and Mac Users.

We already announcedApple co. announces that new Mac OS Sierra and iOS 10 will be released this month or next month.
iPhone 7 will be released on 16th September, so I think iOS will be released until the iPhone 7 release.

Unfortunately, Apple said, “iOS 10 and macOS Sierra will take away the PPTP connection”.

As you know, Kyoto University has been providing the PPTP connection for accessing to the local services, such as the Library online journal from the outside of Kyoto University. It means that their services won’t be available on next MacOSX (macOS Sierra) and iOS 10 from the outside of Kyoto University.

Especially, the easy update system is provided by iPhone and iPad, so please don’t update new OS if you want to use the PPTP connection until the new service instead of PPTP will be released by the media center of Kyoto University.

Kyoto University are preparing new VPN service “IKEv2”  instead of PPTP, they said, “We would like to release it until the end of this month”.

We will inform you after the IKEv2 service will be released and we will test it.
