 Please check your PC security for blocking ransomware. Now, very strong ransomware has been spreading like wildfire in the world. Tentative Web and E-mail service suspension

Dear all. The Center’s main web sites and e-mail services will be temporarily suspended during the following period for the improvement of server system. If a sender sends a message to @cseas.kyoto-u.ac.jp or the Center’s staff sends a message during the maintenance period by e-mail, the message will be sent after the maintenance is finished. [Date]: 24th April, 2017 (Monday)  12:00 — (about 20 minutes) [Operation]: 1. Restart the server (10 minutes) and maintenance (10 minutes). [Notice]: Upgrade Microsoft Office 2007 to new version!

Dear all, Support of Microsoft Office 2007 will be ended on 10th October, 2017. If Microsoft Office 2007 is installed in your PC, Please upgrade it. Software which support is terminated becomes a nest of illegal access Software which support is terminated won’t be supported even if the security vulnerability will be discovered. To keep the status is the large-scale threat for not only the Center but also Kyoto University. According to the information security policy of Kyoto University, we have a responsibility for doing the countermeasure for information security vulnerabilities. Tentative Network Service Suspension

Dear all, According to the announcement of the media center, some network service will be temporarily suspended during the following period due to the network maintenance of Kyoto University. 1. Maintenance of Kyoto University network [Date]: 20th – 27th  December, 2016 (1 week) [Influence]: Basically, the network isn’t stopped by the maintenance, but the network services  will rarely be unstable during the period. Influenced services: Web browsing of outside of Kyoto University, VPN (IKEv2) connection,  Wi-Fi  (KUINS-Air | eduroam) .
