(Fixed) Announcement of CSEAS Server Trouble due to the disk error

Users. The CSEAS web server and mail server were urgently suspended due to the disk error during the following time..We apologize for your  inconvenience. Now, the trouble was repaired. [Date]：February 2, 2012 (Monday) 11::55 – 16:10 [Reason]: failure of the hard disk  [Influence]: CSEAS users cannot receive and send the e-mails during the period (*1). And then, the CSEAS web site was tentatively suspended.  *1: The  e-mails that were sent during the trouble  began to be delivered by the server.  6 February, 2012  Chief of Information Processing Office: Kitani.

(Done) Announcement of Setting up “Skype TV”

Dear all. The Office finished the setting up “Skype TV” in the meeting room (1F), east building at the following time.This “Skype TV” in the room only use “Network function” like “Skype”. Therefore, you cannot watch the TV channels. Dear all. The maintenance operation () was postponed. New schedule is as follows: [Date]:  January 17, 2012 (Tuesday)   5:00 — 6:15  (The operation for 30 minutes will be done once) [Reason]: Maintenance  of SINET (Science Information NETwork is the Japan academic network) . Tentative suspension of network connection

Dear all. Management Committee of Kyoto University Integrated Network Service (KUINS) informed the network administrator of all departments about the following network service suspension. [Date]:  December  15, 2011 (Thursday)   12:00 — 13:00  (40 seconds operation will be done 3 time) [Reason]: Upgrade firmware of the core network machines in KUINS. (Maybe, fix of security vulnerability) [Place]:   East and Common building, Library, and Inamori Center. (Announcement) Unstable network of Kyoto University due to replace the DNS servers.

Dear all. The servers for Domain Name Service (DNS) of Kyoto University will be replaced at the following period. During this period, some network might become unstable. [Date]:  December 13, 2011 (Tuesday) 12:00 – 13:00 December 14, 2011 (Wednesday)  12:00 – 13:00  [Operation]: Replacement of DNS server for KUINS-II / III. The network in the east building and Library will be temporarily suspended at the following period.The aim is the protection of network machines from instantaneous power failure. We are sorry for your inconvenience, but please understand.
