(Done) Tentative network service suspension for maintaining PPTP and Wireless network.

Users. According to the KUINS (Kyoto University Integrated Network Service),  the urgent maintenance of the PPTP servers will be carried out at the following period. By this maintenance, the Kyoto University wireless network will be suspended during the period. Firefox 11 / Thunderbird 11 Released

Firefox 11 and Thunderbird 11 were released on March 14, 2012 (Japanese time). About the detail information, please check the release note. In this version, I’d like to introduce the special feature for “Add-ons synchronization within Firefox Sync”. New Features (Thunderbird) Renewal of User Interface (Tab function moves above the main menu) (Firefox) Added “Add-ons synchronization function within Firefox Sync”. Dear all. On March 8, 2012 (Japanese time), Apple co. released new iOS 5.1 for iPhone/iPhone4S and iPad/iPad2.However, the devices of many persons including me in the world are occurring the deadly trouble after update to iOS5.1. In this case, the device won’t be able to do anything including the telephone even if you try to restore from the backup data. Therefore, the new features are very nice, but I strongly recommend to stop this update. New Feature called “Store to USB memory” in new copy machine

Users. Yesterday, the copy machine was replaced in the information processing room( ).Ane then, the copy machine will be replaced in the copy room of 1F, east building on March 15, 2012.  The two machines are added new feature called “Store to USB memory”. How to use it （） Notice After the new machine is installed at the copy room (1F, east building), please use “Store to USB memory”  when you would like to scan the document. Users. The copy machine in the Office will be replaced new machine in the following time. Therefore, the copy machine won’t be able to use  during the period.  Basically, I think that the handling will be same as before because for the subsequent machine. Of course, there is new function. In Kyoto University, the copy machine has been managed with the rental system in every three years. And then, it is the integrated managerial system under Kyoto University. (Notice) PLEASE take care of Mac virus called “Flashback” in fashion.

Dear Users. Recently, it seems that Mac virus called “Flashback” is in fashion. Moreover, it seems that  stronger viruses are producing by improving this virus. In additional information (March 6, 2012), the security vendor detected that it uses Twitter application for camouflaging an source of attack. The Center has installed the anti-virus software called “Sophons Antivirus” to all PCs, but please check  again. And then, if you have a PC for home, I strongly recommend the installation of an Anti-Virus software. On April 13, 2012, Apple co. provided the special removal tool through “Software Update”.
